how and why icube was formed
icube /aI-kyo͞ob/
(Independent Industrialists Integration)
is a reenacted virtual platform designed for especially for global Food & Beverage industry professionals and users to exchange ideas and put them to work. It is inspired by the popular Southeast Asian "koh pyee tiam" (coffee shops). Until a two decades ago, these coffee shops served as venues where people socialized and current issues were talked about. Many business planning and collaborations have also taken place due to their strategic locations.
At these coffee shops, food, beverages and other amenities were offered. Although not mandated, guests almost always spent to extend appreciation for the service. Often times, small groups were formed to meet at their favorite/preferred shop(s) at prearranged time. Loyal clients paid credits for drinks in advance. The credits (in the form of cash) are deducted as drinks were ordered. Clients also have their favorite drinks; some have drinks customized for them. This was very trendy throughout the post-independence era (1957-90s).
Over time, social gatherings have evolved. With the rapid uprising of modernized office spaces during the dot.com era, the popularity of these traditional scenes had faded. Many coffee shops deteriorated due to age and never returned... The fundamental purpose of brief social gatherings remain an important element in business development process.
If you love travel, dining, and consider yourself an independent, intelligent and intuitive thinker who belongs to a viable industry anywhere in the world, and you enjoy reaching out to integrate and share your invaluable thoughts, you should come in. There is no cost to come visit and chit chat. With the right people in place, we might soon offer coffee.
